In addition to “What’s our favorite pasta?” and “What’s our favorite bread?”, the other most asked question I get is what gluten-free flour do we love? In the 10 years my son has followed a gluten-free diet, ever since being diagnosed with celiac disease in 2010, we’ve learned a lot about gluten-free cooking! We have all our favorite recipes, favorite products most importantly, we’ve and we always have our favorite all purpose Gluten-Free Flour on hand. If you’ve followed me a while, you know the answer…. GFJules All Purpose Flour. Let me tell you why we love it, and we are a brand affiliate for it. Bonus: there’s a discount code for you at the bottom of this post!

My son was diagnosed with celiac disease in the Spring of 2010, a few months before starting kindergarten.
Celiac disease is an autoimmune disease whereby the body cannot digest any amount of gluten, a protein found in wheat, barley and rye. In fact, if gluten is ingested, the body responds by attacking the small intestine and inhibiting the absorption of nutrients.
The only treatment is to adhere to a strict gluten-free diet.
Flash back to 2010, when gluten and celiac were not household names, and there were not nearly as many gluten-free products on the market as there are now.
My son was barely five years old, and his favorite food was pasta (yikes!), he was a little foodie wanting to try everything off our plates, and food traditions were an important part of our Italian family, especially around the holidays.
In fact, one of the first things my mother and I both thought of was… what are we going to do about Cookie Baking Day? It’s funny where the mind goes as your world is being turned upside down.
Anyway, Cookie Baking Day is a long time family tradition where we spend an entire day baking holiday cookies with family and friends. It is a fun, festive and yummy day!
And if we were going to continue with this tradition we needed a great gluten-free all purpose flour!
It was currently May 2010… and with a December deadline in our heads, we both set out trying gluten-free flours, determined to find a mix that worked well with all our favorite recipes!
Lucky for us, very early on in our search, we came across Jules Shepard and her book “The First Year Celiac” which spoke to us in layman terms about celiac disease and living gluten-free. In this book, Jules also shared her efforts at baking gluten-free and introduced us to her gluten-free flour, which quickly became a mainstay in our kitchen.
GFJules Flour is a gluten-free all purpose flour that allows us to make all our family recipes by simply using her flour when the recipe calls for flour.
It’s as simple as that!
We tried recipe after recipe, and each time my mother or I baked something using GFJules flour, it turned out perfectly!
And so we became loyal users of GFJules Flour very early on in our celiac journey.
Why I’m a GFJules Brand Affiliate
So now you know why we fell in love with GFJules Flour. But why are we so loyal?
Well, several reasons:
- First and foremost, it is a great all purpose gluten-free flour, and a great flour makes all the difference in gluten-free cooking and baking. We literally use it multiple times a week in baked goods and basic everyday cooking.
- GFJules cares about the celiac community and does lots to support the community, so we feel safe using her products and feel good supporting her.
- We love that GFJules is always working behind the scenes to make tweaks so that her flour is the best it can be!
- Jules has become a friend. Yes, one of the side benefits of celiac disease is becoming part of an amazing community and getting to meet some really awesome people. I am happy to now call Jules a friend as well as a colleague!

I use Jules flour too.
It is so nice to have a flour mixture already to go.
I still have lots of different flours Thai need to be used up.
So I am working on that.
Totally agree! With gluten-free baking, a great flour can make all the difference!
