An easy, gluten-free french toast that tastes amazing! Just the right mix of ingredients for the best flavor and texture. Recipe doubles well. Recipe adapted from Cooks Illustrated.

Serves: 4 slices
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons butter or dairy-free butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • A dash of salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¾ cup milk or dairy-free milk
  • ⅓ cup gluten-free all purpose flour (we used GFJules - affiliate link)
  • 4 slices Gluten-free bread
  1. Add all ingredients (except bread) to a large bowl and whisk together.
  2. Soak gluten free bread for 3-5 minutes each slice.
  3. Heat a griddle or skillet on medium-high heat and coat pan lightly with butter.
  4. Add soaked bread to pan and cook 2-3 minutes per side, until both sides are golden brown.
  5. Enjoy as is or serve with maple syrup or powdered sugar and enjoy!
