An Easy, Nourishing and Satisfying Gluten-free Breakfast or Snack!

Kicking off Fall flavors with this healthy Apple Cinnamon Smoothie!

It’s naturally gluten-free, dairy-free, packed with nutrients and so delicious!

And it is a taste of Fall– flavored with apple, cinnamon, nutmeg and all spice.

So let’s make it!

Here’s what you’ll need:

frozen riced cauliflower

1 medium apple

almond milk (or milk of choice)

peanut butter or nut/ seed butter of choice

vanilla collagen powder or protein powder of choice (we love Primal Kitchen Collagen Powder– amazon affiliate link)

ground flax seed meal

hemp seeds

ground cinnamon

ground nutmeg

ground all spice

If you’ve never tried frozen riced cauliflower as a smoothie base (in place of frozen fruit), it is definitely worth a try!

The first time I tried it was with our Pumpkin Pie Smoothie last year and I fell in love with it!

You can’t taste the cauliflower but it gives a great creamy texture and is so nourishing!

Similarly, if you’ve never added ground flax seeds or hemp seeds to smoothies, give it a try too!

One of the reasons I’ve fallen in love with smoothies in the past few years is that I love all the “extras” you can add to them for some extra nutrients and fiber.

My personal feeling is that you can’t taste or notice the ground flax seeds or hemp seeds at all so I always add them.

And all you do is you do is put all the ingredients in your blender according to your blenders instructions and blend!

Depending on how your blender works, you’ll put frozen ingredients in first or last.

We use a Nutribullet blender (amazon affiliate link) which we just keep on our counter because it is so compact.

After blending, sprinkle with extra cinnamon and garnish with apple if desired and enjoy!

Equipment

  • 1 High Speed Blender We use a Nutribullet (Amazon affiliate link)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup riced cauliflower
  • 1 medium apple, cut into large pieces, skin on plus extra for garnish, optional plus extra for garnish, optional
  • 1-2 tablespoon peanut butter I tend to use 1 ½ tablespoons but adjust to taste
  • 1 tablespoon hemp seeds
  • 1 tablespoon flax seed meal
  • 1 scoop vanilla collagen powder or protein powder we love Primal Kitchen Vanilla Collagen Powder (Amazon affiliate link)
  • 1 heaping teaspoon cinnamon plus extra for sprinkling
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon all spice
  • 1 cup almond milk or milk of choice

Instructions

  • Place all ingredients in a blender according to your blender's instructions.
  • Blend until well combined and creamy.
  • Pour into a large glass, sprinkle with cinnamon, garnish with apple if desired and enjoy!
