An easy gluten-free recipe for a protein-packed, refreshing green smoothie!

At the request of so many of you on Instagram stories, sharing the recipe to our Minty Green Smoothie!

Naturally gluten-free and dairy-free, this green smoothie is refreshing, nourishing, protein-packed, and so delicious!

Perfect for breakfast or snack!

If you don’t follow me on Instagram, I share my morning smoothie (and sometimes my kid’s morning smoothies) nearly every day.

We have some favorites that are always in the rotation. (Blueberry Banana, Strawberry Banana Peanut Butter and Berries n’ Yogurt).

But I also constantly play around with ingredients depending on the season and availability of ingredients or just to try out new combos!

This one was inspired by our patio garden!

We have soooo much kale right now and the mint is growing like crazy too!

Plus, we make smoothies all year round and when it gets hot out, I love a lighter, more refreshing smoothie.

So let’s make this Minty Green Smoothie!

Here’s what you’ll need:

ice

almond milk or milk of choice

celery

kale

vanilla collagen powder or protein powder of choice (we use Primal Kitchen Vanilla Coconut – amazon affiliate link)

ground flaxseeds

hemp seeds

fresh mint

mint extract

kiwi or 1/2 a banana (I have used both — hence the two photos below!)

 

All you do is you do is put all the ingredients in your blender according to your blenders instructions and blend!

Depending on how your blender works, you’ll put frozen ingredients (like ice!) in first or last.

We use a Nutribullet blender (amazon affiliate link) which we just keep on our counter because it is so compact.

After blending, enjoy as is or even add some cacao nibs or chocolate chips if you want to switch up the flavor.

It will be light, just the right amount of minty and refreshing!

Plus, it’s packed with nutrients and protein to keep you full and satisfied!

Equipment

  • 1 1 High Speed Blender we use a a Nutribullet (amazon affiliate link)

Ingredients

  • cups Ice
  • ½ cup chopped celery (about 2 stalks)
  • ¾ cup Almond Milk or milk of choice
  • 1 scoop vanilla collagen powder we use Primal Kitchen Collagen Powder (amazon affiliate link)
  • 1 tablespoon flax seed meal
  • 1 tablespoon hemp seeds
  • teaspoon mint extract
  • 1 tablespoon mint more or less about 5-7 leaves
  • cup shredded kale (approximately 5 leaves)
  • 1 kiwi (or 1/2 banana)

Instructions

  • Place all ingredients in a blender according to your blender's instructions.
  • Blend until smooth.
  • Enjoy!
