Kicking off Fall flavors with this healthy Pumpkin Pie Smoothie!
It’s naturally gluten-free, dairy-free, packed with nutrients and so delicious!
And it is a taste of Fall– flavored with pumpkin spice, cinnamon and more yummy Fall spices!
It literally tastes like pumpkin pie but is packed with so many wholesome, nourishing ingredients!
Here’s what you’ll need:
frozen cauliflower
fresh or frozen banana (frozen banana makes it creamier and thicker)
pumpkin puree
almond milk (or milk of choice)
almond butter (or nut/ seed butter of choice)
vanilla extract
cinnamon
pumpkin spice
nutmeg
cloves
Of note, this is my first time using frozen cauliflower as a smoothie base (in place of frozen fruit) and I love it! You can’t taste the cauliflower but it gives a great creamy texture and is so nourishing!
And optional, I love to add ground flax seeds and chia seeds for extra nutrients.
In fact, one of the reasons I’ve fallen in love with smoothies in the past year is that I love all the “extras” you can add to them for some extra nutrients and fiber.
My personal feeling is that you can’t taste or notice the ground flax seeds at all so I always add them.
As for chia seeds, I find the make smoothies a bit thicker/ creamier and I prefer to only add a small quantity. But definitely play around and see what you like!
All you do is place the ingredients in your high speed blender according to your blender’s instructions and blend!
